This interactive session is designed to help ovarian cancer patients and survivors cultivate inner strength, embrace healing, and foster hope for the future.

This session includes hands-on activities, meaningful discussions, and actionable strategies to help you navigate life’s challenges and find growth, healing, and hope along the way. Resilience isn’t just about surviving—it’s about thriving.


Melyssa Allen is a double board-certified lifestyle medicine coach, and author of Healthy Living Doesn’t Have to SUCK. Melyssa holds her Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida and specializes in a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to health behavior change. She is a highly rated speaker and coach dedicated to inspiring individuals, communities, and companies to create sustainable lifestyle changes.

Gentle Chair Yoga:

Experience the calming benefits of Gentle Yoga, a practice that allows you to build a sense of physical and mental well-being through careful movement and thoughtful breathing. Tanya Stellpflug, a yoga practitioner from the Integrative Health program at Orlando Health, will guide us in developing strength, balance, and relaxation through soothing stretches, breathing techniques, and gentle poses.


No prior experience is necessary to participate in this restorative and ancient practice. The workshop will be tailored to accommodate participants of all abilities.


Tanya Stellpflug has a B.S. in education with a concentration in therapeutic recreation and a minor in music. She is an E- RYT 200, E-RCYT-Trauma Informed, and Certified in Yoga for Cancer Patients. She also holds a certificate of musicianship from Berklee College of Music and has trained professionally with noted voice teacher Victoria Graf, in Germany.

Join Orlando Health's Jennifer Rickerds, Registered Dietitian, LDN, and Board Certified expert, for an informative presentation on incorporating healthy nutrition into your daily life. Learn practical tips and strategies for making healthy eating choices that fit your lifestyle. This program is the perfect opportunity to expand your nutrition knowledge as you navigate your journey of survivorship.  


Jennifer Rickerds is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. She helps oncology patients meet their individual nutrition needs to maintain optimal health during cancer treatments and afterward. Her areas of expertise include Oncology Nutrition, Clinical Care, Enteral Nutrition/Tube-Feeding Management, and Nutrition Counseling. 
Jennifer strives to empower her patients with nutrition education and compassionate support to promote healing and maintain quality of life.

Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in food science and human nutrition at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She completed a dietetic internship through Andrews University’s program at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Jennifer is board-certified through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Her professional memberships include the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Oncology Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group.

She is also a licensed dietitian nutritionist (LDN). Jennifer has been published in several peer-reviewed publications and has spoken in the Central Florida area about nutrition for cancer prevention.
 
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, cooking and traveling.

Andrea Silvey is a Certified Life Enrichment Director and Nationally Certified Dementia Practitioner with an Associate of Arts degree from Daytona State College. With extensive experience in senior care, she specializes in creating meaningful, holistic activity programs that enhance the spiritual, emotional, and creative well-being of patients. A seasoned speaker, Andrea has presented at local, state, and national conferences, including Activity Professionals events, sharing her passion for improving lives through purposeful engagement.
